Position Overview 

This is an in-office position. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the interior design industry, with experience in furniture and/or dealer environments strongly preferred. 

The Interior Designer is responsible for delivering exceptional, innovative, and functional interior design solutions from initial concept through project completion. This experienced professional combines strong creative and technical design expertise with excellent communication and relationship-building skills to create spaces that meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and vision. 

As a member of the design team, this role serves as a trusted resource for clients, sales team members, and fellow designers. As an experienced Interior Designer, the role provides leadership and mentorship within the department, supports the development of design talent, and contributes to a collaborative culture focused on outstanding client service, creative problem-solving, and continuous growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Design & Project Delivery 

  • Provide comprehensive interior design services and solutions from project conception through installation and completion, including product positioning, design development, space planning, and preparation of client and installation deliverables. 
  • Interpret and translate client needs, goals, and business objectives into thoughtful, creative, and functional design solutions. 
  • Develop accurate specifications, quotations, drawings, presentations, and other project documentation. 
  • Conduct field measurements, product inventories, and on-site assessments to ensure accurate space planning, drawings, specifications, and project execution. 
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout all phases of the design and documentation process. 
  • Manage responsibilities and project deliverables effectively to meet established deadlines and commitments. 

Client Relationships & Collaboration 

  • Attend and actively participate in client meetings alongside sales team members to cultivate strong relationships and gather critical planning and project information. 
  • Serve as a trusted design resource and contribute to a seamless, professional, and positive customer experience. 
  • Collaborate closely with sales, design, operations, and installation teams to support successful project outcomes. 
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, internal team members, architecture and design partners, and vendor partners. 
  • Communicate design concepts and solutions confidently and effectively through both verbal presentations and visual materials. 

 Team Development 

  • Serve as an integral member of the design and sales teams, contributing experience, knowledge, and perspective to support shared goals. 
  • Guide and support members of the design team by sharing knowledge, and encouraging professional growth. 
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and a positive attitude. 
  • Help foster a supportive and collaborative environment where team members can learn, contribute, and succeed. 

Professional Growth & Business Support 

  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, products, materials, and best practices to provide relevant and innovative solutions to clients. 
  • Participate in training opportunities provided by industry partners, manufacturers, and vendors. 
  • Support the Company’s business strategies and initiatives by identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships, improve processes, and enhance the overall customer experience. 
  • Represent the Company and the design team professionally in all interactions with clients, partners, and colleagues. 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred. 

Experience 

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in the interior design field, with demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through completion. 
  • Proficiency in: 
    • AutoCAD 
    • CET 
    • Microsoft Office applications 
    • PowerPoint and other presentation tools
